The Riverfront is a high-profile, mixed-use project considered to be the centerpiece of the revitalization of Downtown Napa. The project consists of 2 levels of underground parking, 40,000 sf of commercial space, 30,000 square feet of office space and 50 residential condominium units. The project also includes a riverfront promenade and pedestrian throughways as part of the Napa River Flood Control Project.
The project is adjacent to the Napa River which posed many challenges in designing the foundation and shoring for the massive excavation. Also, the river contributes to occasional flooding of the project area which required the finish floors to be elevated above the existing elevation of Main Street.
Additionally, this project was designed and constructed in concert with a new County parking garage across Main Street, so extensive coordination was required with many stakeholders to coordinate all the various improvements. Our work on the project also included a complicated Final Map and Condo Plan combination to subdivide the residential units and commercial and office spaces for future sale.
