Project Manager

Project Manager must possess all attributes described as part of the Project Engineer description in addition to the items described herein. Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of civil engineering projects (both public and private) assigned to him/her including:

  • Preparation of proposals
  • On-going contract management
  • Identifying out-of-scope work & preparing addendums
  • Supervising project billing & correspondence
  • Keeping projects on time and within budget
  • Directing & supervising design team members & sub-consultants

Project Manager must also cooperatively interact with governmental agencies, develop on going prospective client relationships and new project oportunities. Will determine labor & resource needs of his/her team. Must be able to affectively mentor, conduct training and evaluate work performance of team personnel. Will attend and run project meetings with clients and local approving agencies. Will assist in the coordination and expedition of the review and approval process with jurisdictions having approval authority over project. Must maintain regular contact with clients to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Valid driver's license
  • Four year degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • 8 years of diversified Civil Engineering design experience
  • California P.E. license

Project Engineer

Under supervision of Project Manager or Principal, a Project Engineer designs and manages specific aspects of civil engineering projects (both public and private). May accompany Project Manager or Principal in meeting with clients to assist in design/development of the project. Will assist client in converting their ideas and desires into permitable and feasible engineering projects. Will be responsible for coordination and supervision of Assistant Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Draftspersons. Will review project specifications and confer with Project Manager. Will be a fully competent engineer who is knowledgeable regarding most conventional aspects of the subject matter. Will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Will be under supervision of a Project Manager and may direct one or more small projects. Job normally required 3-5 years of practical experience. Will be responsible for project completion in compliance with office standards and must work effectively under project-specific budget and schedule requirements.

  • Valid driver's license
  • Four year degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • 3 years of applicable experience
  • California P.E. license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Auto CAD, Excel and Word proficient

Under supervision of designated Project Manager or Project Engineer, a Engineering Technician will work on diverse civil engineering projects (both public and private). Performs routine analysis and general design activities in completing basic engineering design projects. Position requires practical knowledge of general design principles and practices. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, and designs layouts. May calculate design data; prepare detailed specifications, estimates, and procedures. May direct lower level drafter. Responsible for project completion in compliance with office standards and must work effectively under project-specific budget and schedule requirements.

Under supervision of designated Project Engineer and Assistant Engineer, a Draftsperson will work on diverse civil engineering projects (both public and private). Performs routine and complex drafting assignments that require the application of most of the standardized drawing techniques regularly used. Duties typically involve such work as preparation of working drawing and precise positional relationships between components. Work is checked for technical accuracy by supervisor. Responsible for project completion in compliance with office standards and must work effectively under project-specific budget and schedule requirements.

  • Valid driver's license
  • AutoCAD proficient
  • Understanding of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering (a diploma)
  • Ability to communicate in both written and oral form
